
This course provides a comprehensive introduction to the fundamental principles of human nutrition and their application to health and disease. Students will explore the essential nutrients – carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, vitamins, and minerals – examining their chemical structures, digestion, absorption, metabolism, functions in the body, and dietary sources. Emphasis will be placed on understanding the physiological roles of these nutrients throughout the lifecycle, from infancy to old age.
